Japanese skills put to a test...

Yesterday, I survived a date in Japanese. Haha!

The person does not speak English well (or maybe the person does but just doesn't want to. Lol!)

In any case, the whole time we were together we spoke in Japanese. Okay, maybe we used some English but only one or two sentences.

Before meeting up, I told the person to use simple Japanese words and to speak more slowly. Lol!

It turned out okay, I think.

Another near miss...

I went out on a date last night. It wasn't really planned. He was one of the guys I chatted with months ago but we never got the chance to meet up.

Anyway, last night our schedules matched and we agreed to have dinner.

It was good. I actually enjoyed. We went to an izakaya around Okachimachi.

I say it was good because the conversation flowed naturally. There were no awkward moments. Plus, I thought it was a good sign because we sort of had a number of things in common: he liked the outdoors; he's interested in similar movies; he likes walking.

As we were about to end dinner, I asked him if he wanted to walk around Ueno Park. He agreed so I thought it was a good sign.

I thought it was also a good sign because he agreed to go walking even though he lived in a neighboring prefecture and even though he had to wake up early today due to work.

Anyway, this morning, I messaged him and invited him to do dinner but he said he wanted to go home immediately after work.

That's my sign I guess.

Another near miss. When will I ever get it right? Lol!

Random blah...

Last Friday, I went out on a date. Wait, tbh, I'm not sure if it was a date. It was more of a meetup.

I chatted with this guy. He seemed interested. On Friday night, he said he'll wait for me to finish work. I said he shouldn't because I was going to finish work at 10PM. He said it was okay. Good sign, I thought.

We met up. We had a good conversation. We flirted a little.

He had to catch his train back to Shinagawa so we parted ways just before midnight. I didn't read too much into the whole thing.

The Whatsapp exchanges after that Friday night were sweeter.

Sunday was a highlight because we met up again and hung out for a few hours. It was really good.

We met up in Otemachi, walked around the Palace and Marunouchi. He had to take a work call for an hour. While he talked to his boss, I did some of my own work. After that, we continued our date.

Again, it was good.

I even told him that I enjoy hanging out with him because it was effortless. Seriously. It was. That’s the sign of a good date, I thought.

Add to that the fact that he was good on paper - Tokyo U grad, works for a good company, can carry a decent conversation, has a good sense of humor. Nice, right?

I dunno what happened though. Somewhere between the heavy snowfall last Monday and the drop in temperature today, something changed. Lol!

It really drives me nuts.

The other day I was talking with a co-instructor and we were talking about dating. Our conversation somehow led to talking about this particular kind of guy.

I said, “How long do I have to date this guy before I can finally read him?”

My co-instructor said, “You can date him for 2,000 years and you will still not understand him.” Haha!

Touché.

Next guy... again...

I went to dinner last Saturday.

He's a nice guy. He's cute. He has a decent job. He can speak English. He also adjusted his speed of speech and used simple words when he spoke to me in Japanese.

But, he wasn't interested.

And he was late. He was thirty minutes late.

Haha! We agreed to meet up at 7:30PM. He messaged at 7:20PM that he was going to be late.

Of course, I was annoyed. Whether it is because of age or because I stereotype (I think all Japanese people are punctual!), I have not idea. I was just annoyed. Lol.

We originally agreed to have dinner at a restaurant a stone's throw away from Tokyo Station. In the end, I made an executive decision and told him to just meet me at Tokyo Station.

It was rather a stupid decision because first, restaus at the station are almost always crowded and second, it's a bit pricey. ¥600 for ハイボール?!?! You've got to be kidding me! Haha!

It was an enjoyable time though.

The following day, I messaged him to say hello. He didn't reply anymore. He replied today with a simple "Hi." but I'm taking it as a sign that he's not interested.

Oh well, moving on...

It's August!

Whoa, it's already August!

Time is flying so fast! It's insane. Okay, I'll try to post more often. Lol. The operative word being "try."

Last Sunday, I went on a date. Or I thought it was a date.

Recently, I usually just meet with people for one hour. I don't know if it's because I'm getting old or it's because I just don't see the need to spend more time than needed if I feel there's no follow through. Lol.

With this guy though, I dropped the one-hour rule because of a few good signs. He said he usually video calls with guys first before meeting up with them. He liked Rose Bakery, too. (Lol!) As soon as we started chatting, it just felt natural.

Long story short, it was a great Sunday. We had lunch, dinner, and coffee. We went to one of my favorite parks in Tokyo. We went to an onsen.

So, those were all good signs.

Yesterday, I messaged him to ask if he wanted to hang out again soon.

He said yeah but he also said he has a partner.

My reaction was WTF?!

This is the third time that this has happened to me. I refuse to think it's a Japanese thing. (The other two instances were with Japanese guys, too. Lol!) Lying by omission is still lying, I think.

Oh well. I just kinda felt sad because I spent 8 hours with the guy and it was a good date. You don't get that often, right?

Okay, lesson learned. Next time, don't assume!

Letters for you...

So, it seems like I still have the cheesy person in me. Haha!

One letter for each day you're away...

Tuesday, January 24, 2017

Well, it's not over yet...

So what I thought was over turned out otherwise.

Last Sunday, IBA guy and I met up again. It was unplanned. I asked him if he and I were going to meet soon. It turns out he was going to be in Tokyo that day because he had a review session.

We agreed to meet up in the evening to catch a movie and have dinner.

Hmm, it was still a good date.

I'm just being cautious and trying not to invest a lot in it.

Over before it even began...

Well, it seems it's over. Lol.

It didn't even make it to a month. Oh well, that's life I guess.

Hmm, I guess what sucks about it is I thought it was actually going somewhere. I should've known it was too good to be true.

In a way, it's good that I have a drop of cynicism in me so I didn't completely commit the mistake I would've committed had I been in my early 20s.

残念ですね.

The analytical side of me saw me reading the conversations that started in late December. It's funny how a few weeks can change how a conversation goes. But I guess that's the reality of dating, huh? You date to find out if you fit with the other person.

Hmm, the thing is I really thought there was a fit. I dun care about the distance. 64 kilometers is nothing. Heck, I'm willing to take the train to and fro Tokyo every Sunday if that's the only way to have some QT. But these past few days, you've been like the weather in Tokyo - on some days cool, on most days cold... and I guess it's only going to get colder.

At the very least, I'm grateful for the awesome date last 28 December and 30 December. It's been awhile since I've had a great date like that. I felt the kilig and it was good.

Ueno Park. Starbucks Ueno. A walk around the park. United Arrows gloves. Last train to Ibaraki. Last train to Horikirishobuen.

Good one.

Happy New Year...

Something nice happened before 2016 ended...

I had a super nice date. The date was originally planned for 30 December, but the stars aligned and we met up two days earlier.

Rarely do I go out on dates, but this was one good first date. Lunch at a ramen shop in Ueno. A leisurely walk around Ueno Park. Coffee and relaxed conversations while sitting at one of the park benches.

It was a date that got extended into the night. I told you the stars aligned, I managed to get off work early. He decided he'd get me a pair of gloves to warm my hands and to take the last train back to his prefecture. Yeah, the guy lives an hour or so away from Tokyo. I kinda feel bad that he had to travel all the way to Tokyo.

It was a good date though.

If the first date was good. The second and third one were double the fun and double the excitement. Apparently, there is a 5-day holiday leading up to the new year so that worked to our advantage. Hehe!

Friday started with a hangout at Haneda Airport, followed by a walk around Yoyogi Park, then exploring Daikanyama (which I've never been to), and ending the long day with a good dinner and a movie at Roppongi.

I've always thought that walking around Tokyo would be a superb date. Well, surprise, surprise, this happened and it was all his idea. Hmm, is that a good sign?

We'll see, but yeah, Happy New Year...

Sunday at Kiyosumiteien...

What an interesting Sunday afternoon.

The day started with Mass at St. Ignatius... again. It's the only church I know that has a 7AM Mass and that is close to Otemachi/Tokyo Stations. The Mass is in Japanese but there are missalettes in English (and even Spanish), so I'm still able to follow the readings. The only thing I'm missing is the homily.

After Mass, I headed to Tokyo Station. I decided to work for a few hours on Sundays, and the learning center I'm assigned to on Sundays is right next to Tokyo Station. It was an interesting day. Hehe! Lesson learned: I really, really need to prep for each lesson. I didn't have enough time to prep for my lessons today so they were so so lessons. I hope no one gives me a negative feedback. Yikes!

From Tokyo Station, I walked over to Otemachi Station where I had to take the Hanzomon Line. Before taking the train, I changed out of my office clothes and into something more comfy. Haha!

My agenda this afternoon was to go check out Kiyosumiteien.

I have a list of Japanese gardens in Tokyo that I want to visit, and Kiyosummitein is on that list. The afternoon was even more interesting because I met up with someone who has the potential to be a friend.

So from Kiyosumi Shirakawa Station, we walked to nearby Kiyosumiteien. From outside, it's hard to imagine that there's such a magnificent garden behind the walls. As soon as we entered the garden, sheesh, I was in heaven. It is just so gorgeous!

My new friend and I spent a few hours at the garden. It was actually not that big, but we took our time walking around. I was taking photos and at the same time, I was admiring the gardens. What was extremely amazing about it was that you can walk around the garden and you will be rewarded with a different scenery from wherever you're standing.

I definitely will go back to see the garden on a sunny day. For sure, it'll be even more awesome.

Afterwards, we walked for 15 minutes and headed to Monzen Nakacho. It is a street lined with izakayas. We walked around and decided to go to an izakaya called Kushiya Yokocho (my new friend had to translate it!). I was hoping to have rice or some other carbs for dinner because my only meal for the day was breakfast at 9AM. Haha! But surprise, surprise, the yakiton we ordered was actually more than enough to satisfy me. Either that or it was because of all the cabbage I dipped on miso. It was a good substitute for rice, I guess. Haha!

We decided to call it a night after and I got home about an hour ago. Thankfully, tomorrow is a holiday so I have another day of rest. Yay!

Photos of Kiyosumiteien in another post.

Random Saturday night...

It's only my first week of working in Tokyo and I feel like it's been already a decade. Haha!

Obviously, the adjustment I have to do here is waaay different from the one that I had in Singapore. Everything here is new to me. Language alone has been a challenge. I feel bad that I don't speak the language. I do want to learn it as soon as I can.

Then, one major thing that I had in Singapore that I don't really have here is the social support system. I do have two friends here and I have met two people. But truth be told, I am really starting from scratch.

So far, I haven't felt lonely. Maybe because the novelty of it all is still there. I must say that Singapore did prepare well for a solo life. Haha!

I'm okay with doing things on my own - going to church, taking the train, getting grocery, and so on. I don't want to get too comfortable with the current setup though as I'm afraid my social skills might vanish. Haha!

This evening, I met up with someone. We've been chatting for a bit of time. We scheduled to meet up a few times but for some reason, it just didn't happen. I was working late. He was finishing work late.

Now, I know why it didn't happen soon enough.

The guy's attached. Haha! Maybe it was the heavens intervening, giving me a sign not to meet up with him.

I only found out after almost an hour of having a good conversation, laughing out loud, and teasing each other over coffee and iced lemon tea. Haha! Hmm, I was somewhat crushed because he seemed like a nice guy.

According to him, his partner allows him to meet with other guys. His partner does the same thing. Whether it's because of the long distance relationship or an open relationship (I didn't ask), I don't know. I didn't bother to ask.

Hmm, I guess I felt a little bad because the conversation was turning out to be cute... too cute, actually. But seriously, who am I kidding? The guy's a kid. Hehe!

I do plan to meet up with him again as I do want to start having more than two friends in this big city.

You don't need to love me...

So I told DC that because of certain circumstances, I can't be Mr. Right, but I'm willing to be his Mr. Right Now.

Somehow there was a part of me that felt relieved when he said that he himself feels that he's not ready to get into anything.

He also said that the way the events unfolded last Wednesday were also a surprise to him.

I'm glad that it looks like he and I are on the same page. Maybe I'll get to see him again...

About last night...

5:39PM: Me: "Hey, are we on for dinner? Otherwise, I'm heading back. Lol."
5:41PM: DC: "Ah ok can. Let's meet for dinner."
5:42PM: DC: "Is there anything at the lawn cafe? Will be less crowded?"
5:43PM: Me: "Haha. Okay."

Something was up with the heavens yesterday. I went out on a date. Haha.

He messaged me the other day. We chatted for a bit. Yesterday, he messaged again.

We agreed to have dinner. His building was right next to mine. It's the first time I'm meeting someone from this area. It turns out he just started work in the area two weeks ago.

Five minutes to 6PM, I left my office, crossed the street over to his building and headed to the open space in front of his building to wait. Few more minutes passed by, then I saw the familiar face from the app walking towards me with a smile on his face.

I reached out my hand to shake his and said, "Nice to meet you. So shall we walk to the food place?"

One thing to like about the area where I work is it's conducive for after work jogs or walks. Since most of the office people have left for home, we only saw a few people as we made our way to the cafe.

Dinner was pleasant and enjoyable. It felt exactly like how a first date should be. Conversation flowed between us naturally. Effortless. I talked about myself. He talked about himself.

The more I listened to him, the more I learned about our similarities. I told my best friend Tey that it was somewhat weird - he's a morning person, he likes to keep himself busy, he goes to the museum and theatre, he likes nature walks, he likes walking. When he started talking about the hikes and walks that he has done around the island, it didn't sound foreign to me as I was familiar with all the places he talked about. In fact, I've even done some of the routes that he did.

After dinner, there was that usual game of trying to sense whether this evening should continue or to call it a night.

In our case, it was the former.

We walked around one-north area in a leisurely pace. The neighbourhood just gets a different vibe at night. The whole place becomes deserted. Except for a few joggers and the noise from a nearby construction site, it was a nice area for an after dinner walk.

There was a new mini-park close to our office and we decided to check it out. Conveniently, there was a bench in one area. We sat down and got comfortable. At first, there was some space between us. In the next few minutes, it was a game of nonverbals and body language. After some time, the space between us disappeared and we sat next to each other.

For about an hour, we just talked about all sorts of things. He talked about how for his uni immersion, he went to one of the developing countries in rural Africa. To me, that was a sign that this guy was different. Listening to him talk about his two months in Africa with joy and wonder and fondness certainly upped his pogi points.

We looked at the night sky and talked about how we rarely see a sky full of stars nowadays. I talked about my last memory of seeing the pitch dark night blanketed by stars. He talked about his own memory of a similar experience.

It was an evening that could still go on for hours.

But then, I checked the time and it was time to head back. I didn't want to look like a zombie today.

More than that, it wouldn't be smart for me to get deep into this. Not at this moment. The reason is meant for another post.

I just don't think it's wise. And so, despite last night being a good memorable date, I still haven't messaged him this morning. He hasn't messaged as well. Maybe he's waiting? I'm not sure.

In any case, thank you for that nice date. It's something I haven't had in a long time. I wish we met two years ago.

The last good date...

I've been a good boy for the past three months.

By good boy, I mean I haven't been on any apps, I haven't met up with anyone. All I've been doing is hang out with my couple friends or fellow single friends, work, museum, gym, and so on.

These past few weeks, I've been masturdating since MonRich were in Europe while Jon was in Japan.

While I was doing my jog earlier, one of the thoughts that came to mind was trying to recall the last time I went out on a good date. Hehe!

Since it happens rarely, only two persons come to mind - SQ Guy and Curator Guy.

If we're going to be strict about the definition of "date," then only Curator Guy would count. The thing with "SQ Guy" was more of a hang with some harmless flirtation. Hehe!

I don't even recall when the date with Curator Guy happened. It was a few months back and it only happened because there was an even which we were both interested in.

He and I have been messaging on and off for almost a year before the meetup actually happened. When it did happen, it was good because it was nice to be on a date again.

We had dinner at a nice restaurant. We went for a short walkt to the event venue. We shared an ice cream. We went for another round of dessert after the event. Throughout the night, there was easy convo and some flirting. He offered to drive me back but I refused because my place is too far. Haha!

We did hold hands. And as any proper date, ended the night with a polite kiss to say, "Thanks, I enjoyed your company."

It was, as I suspected, a one-off thing. We chatted again for the next few days. We agreed to meet up again. A day before the meetup, he said he's not feeling well. I wasn't up for it either. And the whole thing just died a natural death. There are no regrets because during the date, I already sensed some red flags. Nope, he wasn't a bad person. I just knew that it wasn't going to work out.

On the other hand, I was really happy because it was a good date. It wasn't a date that started with "Got place?" It was a date that started with "Would you like to go to this event with me?"

And although I was turned off for five seconds by the fact that he's wearing flipflops (WTF?! I took my time prepping for this time and you show up in flipflops?!), it was a night that I sincerely enjoyed. It was a night I won't mind having again soon.

A recent non-date date...

Rarely do I go out on a date.

The main reason is because I don't see the point in meeting someone when I'm not sure about what I intend to do in the near future. I just didn't see the point in starting something with someone. It sounds stupid, but that's just how I see things.

Once in a while though, I get inspiration from two friends who constantly put themselves out there. Thanks to these two friends, I try to get out of the comfort zone of being single and go meet up with a new person or two.

In the past two or three weeks, I managed to go and meet up with three people.

The most recent one was the best, primarily because it was a non-date date.

He and I met some time in March 2015. It was some time after CNY. Guess the nationality. Malaysian. Haha! It's either I'm always drawn to Malaysians or I tend to attract Malaysians. Haha!

When we first started talking, he was up for fun, I wasn't. I told him I'd like something more than just a fleeting thing. We met up a few days later to just go for dinner and chitchat. It was an enjoyable get-together.

Good sense of humor. Confident. Killer smile and eyes. Someone to introduce to friends and Mom.

Under different circumstances, I would've asked him out.

It would take another year before he and I would meet up again. In between, we constantly kept in touch though.

Every so often, he would say hi or I would say hi. Our thing is that he would share his location once in awhile. Shanghai. Frankfurt. Some other country. It was cute.

To my surprise, he messaged last Sunday if I was free to meet up.

We ended up just going for coffee, cake, chitchat and a little flirting.

That's one of the things I like about this guy. He's bold enough to not care about the people around us. Going down the escalator, he would be standing in front of me and I would put my arm around his neck. No two straight guys would ever do that, lol. Walking around the mall, he would massage the base of my neck.

It was a good date. It was a good non-date date. He had a dinner, I had a dinner. Who knows when he and I will meet each other again?

But at least, for those few hours, I was happy to have been out with him.

Oh, during our convo, he would marry the first one who gives him a ring. Smart guy that I was, I made a ring out of our coffee receipt. He said yes.

Just kidding!

A good date...

A good date.

It's been awhile since I had one. Well, to begin with, I rarely go out on dates. The triumvirate of apps are not on my phone. Most of my AJ friends are either coupled or fellow singles who are also on the prowl for a date. Lol. That said, I'm not really sure where to find a good date.

Well, apparently, it comes as a surprise.

I was completely tired yesterday. With only two hours of sleep before heading to the airport, another two hours of sleep on board the plane, it was no surprise that I crashed as soon as I reached my home.

When I was still in Manila, this guy from Gombak messaged to ask if I was free to meet up in the evening. I told him I was in Manila but that I would message him when I land in Singapore.

I landed in Singapore. I took the public transpo from Changi to the far West. I reached my place. I didn't message. Lol.

I was just not in the mood. My nap took longer than I expected. When I woke up, it was almost 9. I checked my phone and there was no mesage from Gombak guy.

Whew! Yes, I could go back to sleep, I thought! In a few minutes, the familiar tone of Line went off and it was Gombak guy asking if I'd landed.

The non-dating guy in me was tempted to tell him that I was home but that I was tired. Instead, I took inspiration from @astralcowboy and another friend who have been putting themselves out there.

A few messages exchanged and we agreed to meet up at Gombak. He said there was a nearby 24-hour Malay food centre and we could hang there.

I took a quick shower, put on my clean clothes and then headed out.

What I thought would be a short meetup turned into a 2-hour thing, which almost felt like a date. We walked to the food centre. He ordered bee hoon for his late dinner. I ordered my kopi si and got him a teh tarik. He offered some of his bee hoon. I took a little because it looked good. Afterwards, he asked if I wanted to get prata. I said I was hesitant but he ended up ordering anyway.

The conversation throughout went smooth. It wasn't difficult to come up with things to talk about. There was no awkwardness. There was no air of superiority. It was very relaxed.

After awhile, he asked if I wanted to check out the nearby Little Guilin. I've been meaning to check it out but never found the time to alight at Gombak station and walk over. I thought it was funny that he asked if I wanted to go there in the middle of the night since I'm sure I wouldn't be able to see the quarry and the lake beneath it. I was even suspicious. Dark place. No people. Possibly no CCTVs. Hmm, this game sounds familiar.

But it turned out I was wrong. Gombak guy really just wanted to have a walk and show me the place.

We found a nice huge flat stone where I sat and stared at the night sky, with the full moon and a few stars. He sat next to me and we talked about random stuff.

I deliberately nudged him once in a while or brushed my skin against his skin. He took the bait and gave me a quick hug.

When we checked the time again, it was almost 12. I needed to catch the train back to my place. I needed to get my sleep.

On the way back to the train station, we felt closer. He gave me a few more hugs. I gave him a hug Filipinos are known for. I said goodnight and goodbye. He said he'll wait for me to get into the station just to be sure I don't take a cab. And then he said good night.

As I had expected, that was a one-time thing. He messaged to say good night. I replied to thank him for the evening.

It was one of those exchanges where you somehow know that was it. And I suspect that's the case.

I'm glad I dragged myself out of bed though. I'm glad I went out on that impromptu date. I'm glad I can still have a good date.

That's something to be happy about.

A look back at how I did in the dating and relationship department...

While I was in the train on my way home from the gym, I started thinking about how the year went.

I dunno why but I thought about how I did in the dating & relationship department. Maybe because some random guy who was a Pump newbie asked for my help to set up his bar and stuff.

Anyway, it was a so so year in the dating & relationship department.

The year didn't start very well in that area. There was HB Boy who vanished into thin air. Lol! I never got to find out what happened to him. After contacting him via Skype, iMessage, Viber, Whatsapp, Gmail, I figured he's gone. A part of me felt that we could've had a good thing together, but my good friends helped me realise it wasn't the truth.

Then there's JKT Boy. Asshat that I am, I broke his heart resulting in me getting unfriended and blocked on Facebook. We had a good thing while it lasted. Unknown to friends, I was seeing JKT Boy for three months. I only told MonRich about him when it was over. For awhile, JKT Boy and I kept in touch. We hung out, talked to each other, until we got into some sort of argument. He accused me of certain things, which I couldn't accept.

After some time, he took back the things he said and things went back to normal. Then, it was his turn to be the asshat. When I realised that I was unfriended and blocked, I also realised that I made the right decision to not get into anything serious. He is still a boy.

Lastly, there's CD Guy. After a few glasses of whiskey Coke, I was buzzed and got too close to CD Guy. That hohol was followed by a few times of going out and messaging. Then one morning, we got into a misunderstanding. Again, I was accused of being something. To break the convo, I said I'll just have lunch. When I returned from lunch, CD Guy delivered the "Let's just be friends" message.

Haha! Oh well... So that was that in the dating & relationship department. Hmm, I think I went out for dinner with two or three other people but nothing came out of it. It's okay, though.

When I returned from my Japan trip, I realised that I could actually be okay being on my own for now. The other part of me is yearning for permanency. I do want to settle down already whether it's with someone or by myself - I'm okay with either. I just want to have some semblance of permanence in my life.

Richie said I like to do that - to have a look back at the year that was. I told him I do it because it reminds me of things I should be grateful for, things I can improve on, things I want to change.

Change. That's the broad theme I want for my 2016.

Let's see how.

Study date at the library and the new restau at Forum...

Well, today was packed again. Haha!

There are two highlights today. But first, let me begin with the somewhat highlights. Being extremely tired yesterday, I slept at 1030AM and that meant I was up before 7AM. That was great because I was able to go for my usual short run at the park connector near my neighbourhood. By 8AM, I was back at my place and got ready for my morning, noontime and early afternoon activities. The other somewhat highlight was that I managed to finally schedule another session with Yoshisensei. I'm glad that I can still remember most of the things. However, I really need to study, study, study more.

Okay, moving on to the two highlights.

First is something that happened from morning until early afternoon just before my session with Yoshisensei. I went on a somewhat different date. A day after National Day, I started talking to this guy who lived a few train stations away from my place. We agreed to meet up for lunch today. A lunch date was just right because I planned to spend morning and early afternoon at the library.

When I told him my plans, he said, "Why don't we have breakfast? And then, if you don't mind the company, I'll join you at the library. I have stuff to do too, anyway." In my head, I thought that was even better.

So WDL Guy and I met up at a Toastbox near the library. He is a nice guy. The best thing is that we can actually talk. It was easy to get along with him. From Toastbox, the library was just a stone's throw away. He suggested we go there thirty minutes before opening time. When we reached the library, I understood why. There were already four queues of students camping out and waiting for the library to open. As the opening time neared, the crowd got bigger. It felt strange because I think WDL Guy and I were the most senior in the crowd. We were surrounded by sec school and uni kids. Haha!

The library finally opened and I led WDL Guy to the usual spot I go to for peace and quiet. For the next three hours, we were just seated next to each other. I was reading my book and taking down notes. He was also doing his own thing.

Around 1PM, I asked him if he wanted to have lunch. He said yes. That was great because it meant continued talk time from breakkie. We didn't really get to talk at the library. Haha! We walked over to a kopitiam near to the library. Thankfully, it wasn't crowded. We got a table and managed to stay for about two hours for lunch and chitchat.

By 3, I told him I needed to get back because I had a 4PM appointment. He was kind enough to walk me back to the train station. I thought that was nice. Before we parted ways, he told me to give him a call if ever I'll bet at the library. That way, he will join me. I'm not sure if there'll be a second date but I'm glad that the somewhat impromptu date happened.

On to the second highlight of the day, it was dinner with Mon, Richie, Ana, Ann Marie at the newly opened Jamie Oliver's at Forum. I'm always happy to see Mon and Richie because we never run out of things to talk about. It was also great seeing Ana and Ann Marie because both girls always have stories to share.

Hmm, about the restau, I only enjoyed the dessert. For the pasta and the pizza, I'd choose The Wine Connection on any given day. For the price that we paid, we could have had a much better meal at Wine Connection. Hehe! Thank goodness for great company!

I reached home thirty minutes ago. What I thought was going to be an early night turned out to be late night. Hehe! It's okay.

Today was a good day!

A case of bad timing...

"Do you think this has a relationship potential," read the new message that came in via Whatsapp.

I started typing, "Yeah, I would consider exploring if this had a potential. What about you?" I hit the Send button.

New message comes in, "I would def try, but we need to date longer before getting into something."

Then I type again, "I'm not wired for an LDR. I told you that, right." I hit Send again.

A new message comes in, "I'm not asking for one, LDR is crazy."

I type again, "You and I are a case of bad timing." Send.

Well, the last six days have been very amusing. Trick of fate, you are...

Eventful Tuesday night...

Tuesday night was quite eventful.

For most of the people around the island, I'm guessing the breakdown of the Red and Green lines during peak hours was what made the night memorable (if you can call it that). For me, it was the hangout with CD Guy.

Hmm, it's already a month since I met CD Guy officially. I say officially because we were in the same party earlier than 5 June, but it was only on 5 June when we started talking to each other. Hehe!

Last night, I was telling him how amusing the turn of events were. I went to the house party at Sarge's that night just for a night of good convos and great drinks. Who knew that a month later CD Guy and I would be sitting right across each other having dessert and talking about things? Haha!

Started the night with dinner at Lau Pa Sat. We thought of going to Orchard for coffee. However, we decided to change plans when we saw the crowd at the bus stop. Instead, we just walked to Ann Siang Hill. It was a nice walk along Telok Ayer St all the way to Ann Siang. PS Cafe was not crowded at all and we were able to get a good seat.

A very nice wait staff reco'd the dessert pictured above. Ginger pudding. It was really good. I love how it's not extremely sweet and that it doesn't have whipped cream and nuts. Haha!

Over coffee and the delicious ginger pudding, CD Guy just talked about things. We agreed on a few things.

Around 11, it was time to head back. I was dreading the long bus ride going home. Thankfully, I got notifications that the lines already resumed operation. Although the train was running at a much slower speed, I was grateful that I didn't have to sit in a bus for hours or so. Haha!

Good Tuesday night... for me and CD Guy, at least.
