The cards are saying the same thing...

I'm not really a believer of tarot cards or anything that has to do with fortune telling.

I do it because it's fun. And when I do it, I only want to hear the good things. Hehehe!

I've only gone to two persons for tarot card reading. One was with my Mom who knows this guy who reads cards. The other one is with my work colleague Nova's friend Jani.

I've had my card reads by Jani a number of times and I can say that he's very "reliable."

Uhm, there's a third person who read my cards, good friend Noreen. But I'm not sure if it counts because she was just practicing her "gift" on me. Hehehe!

Last Friday, work colleague MJane and I found ourselves on the way to Gateway to meet up with Jani. Last time we met up with him was a year ago, around this same time. We planned to meet him after that, but we never got to do so anymore.

MJane has been asking me to get in touch with Jani for quite some time now, but it was only last week that we found the time to contact him.

Friday after work turned out to be a perfect time to meet up with him. It's the start of the Year of the Rabbit. Friday, according to Jani, is one of the best days to have one's cards read. And I just got some really good news, and I wanted to check if the cards would show that.

Guess what? It did. The cards were very, very good. In general, it's going to be a very, very good year for me. That's also what is said about Sheep people this Year of the Rabbit. All the cards that I drew showed very good vibes in all aspects - career, family, health. Uhm, relationships, yeah, but it's not really a priority (or so I claim).

In a way, I'm also glad that I did the reading because I learned some very good reminders and what to steer clear of. Haha!

Uhm, the general advice is to just enjoy and be happy because everything is generally just fine! I should stop being too much of a worry wart. I should stop being too hard on myself. I should adjust my level of expectations.

And just stop so I can smell the roses around me. Haha!

Uhm, I spent about an hour chatting with Jani to have my cards read. Nagsara ng ang CBTL sa cinema area sa sorbing tagal naming. Haha!

Jani already packed his cards when I realized I forgot to ask one very important question. Haha! I was so focused on the good news that I got that I forgot to ask about someone. Haha!

We transferred to the other CBTL just outside Araneta Coliseum. Jani was very nice to accommodate my request to ask that one question. Haha!

Uhm, my takeaway from that question. Yes, the person has feelings for me as well. But it's not worth pursuing because what I'm feeling is not really the four-letter L word. Haha!

I needed to know that, and somehow it helped me in my resolve to really ignore whatever this is and just forget the entire thing. Hahaha!

After the reading, MJane and I bid Jani goodbye. We headed to the nearby Cubao X for a very late dinner, and a round of SML.

Time to see Jani again...

I don't really believe in fortune telling, regardless of the methods. (Although I found it extremely fascinating that there are over thirty methods to do fortune telling!)

In my entire life, I've only done it thrice (officially). And I do it just for fun. I know I

The first one was with this guy who my Mom and a Tita go to for meditation sessions. I had the tarot card reading back in 2006 when things weren't going really well in general. The guy said some things about my career, or lack of it. A couple of weeks (months?) and certain things happened and they were exactly what he said.

The other time I had my "fortune" told was with my friend Noreen. She "discovered" that she had the gift and I was sort of her guinea pigs. Haha!

The most recent one was with Jani, the friend of a colleague. This was a couple of months ago. Jani has a reputation for being really good at his craft, so on a Saturday night just before the GIG Run, I went with my colleagues to see him.

He said a lot of good things, but my favorite was on that particular aspect of my life which has been quite boring for the past three years already. Haha!

Here's the gist of what Jani said. Two people will make an appearance, and my connection to the two would both be somewhat romantic. Both will be around my age. The difference is who loves who more? I'm going to be into Guy A but it'll be short lived, and I'm going to have a hard time moving on. Guy B will enter the picture, and although he's nice and all, I'll be too hung up on Guy A to give Guy B what he deserves.

After he told me this, I just put the thought at the back of my mind. I was told to just be observant of how things will go with my life.

Months have passed and some recent turn of events are making me think that what the cards revealed several months ago have finally materialized. Haha!

Hold your horses though. No need to get that excited.

I'm still single. That's for sure.

While certain parts of what Jani read didn't fully take place (falling hard, for one), I think that the reading in general have already happened. I'm impressed, Jani. You're good.

Uhm, now, I'm a bit excited (curious) to find out what's next. I refuse to believe that Guy A and Guy B are already "it." Surely, there's got to be something else. Otherwise, it only means one thing. I'm screwed in that department. Haha!

So, I think it's time to see Jani again just to see whether the stars have realigned. Trip trip lang. Hehe!

A reading according to Jani...

Photobucket

Colleague from work Nova invited us to see her friend Jani the tarot card reader over the weekend. Some of the girls at work have gone to him and they say he's really good.

I'm not really a fan of tarot card or anything involving strangers predicting my future, but I thought I'd try it out just for fun. Since I knew I wouldn't be able to go to the White Party, I thought the visit to Jani would be my something fun on a Saturday night.

Met up with Nova, Rhyz and MJane at Newsdesk in Morato. We started early because I had to get home early to get enough sleep for my first 10K run ever this morning.

Alright, just a gist of what Jani told me. Surprisingly, the focus of my spread of cards was on relationships. When I allowed Noreen to use me as her guinea pig early this year for her tarot card reading practice, she said nothing romantic was in store for me because out of the how many cards that was about love and relationships, not one showed up.

Fast forward to last night and well, well, well, look do we have here. LOL! It seems that the stars have re-aligned or something. Haha!

Uhm, Jani said things that I already knew but I guess I needed to hear about it from someone else. He said I was afraid to let someone in, that I need to work on letting go of things, that I need to shatter some perspectives on certain things.

He said that I will fall in love. I registered a look on my face that said, "I have been in love." That's when he said, "You think you've been in love. You haven't. The past? That wasn't love. That was heartache. That was hurt."

Ouch! But a little more thinking and I thought the guy was right. Hehe!

He did also say things that I already know but needed to hear from someone else. That I'm basically afraid to let someone in, that I neeed to work on letting go of things, that I need to appreciate more of myself.

He said, "You're afraid to let people in because you fear that the past may happen again." That's when he explained what the Chariot card meant. The need to be courageous. The need to take risks.

Jani was right, I suppose.

What really put a smile on my face that night were the appearance of two cards - Page of Wands and Knight of Coins. There was another card that showed up, which was what I have always wanted, so that was a pleasant surprise. Hehe! I won't elaborate on this anymore. Let's just wait and see.

Haha!
