I think it was Jon who told me about this series. Anyway, recently I've been binge-watching this series. Haha!

It's actually good.

Terrace House on Netflix...

So I finally succumbed and signed up for a Netflix subscription. Haha!

I've been asking Tipz how to set up an account. Of course, I was too lazy to read about it. But I think Tipz is lazier to teach me how to set up my Netflix account. (Peace, Tipz!) Either way, it turns out it's super easy.

Just a few clicks and voila! I have Netflix. I'm still on the one-month trial. I don't know how much subscription costs in other countries but it's very affordable here in Japan.

People have reco'd shows to watch. So far, the only one I've started on is Terrace House. I thought I could find it on Youtube but I can't. Hehe!

It's entertaining. Plus, it's good practice for listening skills. I'm not watching the Tokyo season. There's also a new season that's shot in Hawaii. That's up next after I finish the Tokyo season. Some friends also reco'd The Crown. I'll find time for it.

Yeah, yeah, I know I'm late with this but I just finished season 4. LOL! He's sooo good!

I dunno though if he's a bad guy or a good guy.

Don't tell me. I want to find out for myself.

Finally watching Game of Thrones...

With no new series to watch, I finally started watching Game of Thrones.

I finished the first three seasons in just a few days. That meant late nights and some unproductive mornings. Haha!

So far, it's been interesting though I can't wait for some characters to already reveal their power and might.

When GOT first came out, I did hear about it and I did try to watch an episode or two. However, I didn't follow the series because I don't really like shows that have too many characters in it. So, I decided to move on to other series.

The good thing about delaying the watching of the series is that now all eps of the first five seasons are complete. I can do marathon watching. Gone is the agony of waiting a year for the new season. Gone is the struggle to remember which character is which and who was who.

This is just similar to how I approached Downton Abbey. It was already season 4 or 5, I think when I started watching the series. I eventually fell in love with it and became such a huge fan.

As a Filipino saying goes, "Huli man at magaling, makakahabol din."

Some time last week, I read in a local newspaper that China was warning against its citizens against watching a particular Korean series.

I didn't read the news as I thought there were other more important news articles to read.

Yesterday, out of having so much free time, I found myself watching the first episode of the series.

I'm now on episode 5! Hahaha!

The show really is addicting! I loved everything about it - the cast, the storyline, the production, even the OST!

Could the kilig be the reason why China is warning its people against the series? Hehe!

Superhero Fight Club...

Two series I'm really addicted to at the moment are Arrow and The Flash.

It started with Arrow. Later on, I got addicted to The Flash as well. Hehe!

I love how in some episodes, characters from both shows cross over to the other show.

Anyway, the show's producers put together this Fight Club-inspired promo for the final episodes of the two series.

I love it.

Birthday month 30-day writing challenge: Day 18...

I'm following a few TV series right now. Downton Abbey. Scandal. Gotham. How to Get Away with Murder. The Walking Dead. Arrow. Looking.

Of these, the two shows I'm really addicted to are Downton Abbey and Scandal.

Yup, that's what I'm supposed to write about tonight. Which TV shows am I addicted to at the moment?

Scandal. Though I really am not a big fan of Fitz, I can't seem to let go of the series. The main reasons are the protagonist and the writing. Kerry Washington's character Olivia Pope is someone I've fallen in love with. I love everything about her. I love how she can be a powerful woman at one point and then, she becomes this needy, lonely girl the next moment. Haha! And as I have just mentioned, the writing is just plain awesome! Seriously, I am a fan of the episode writers of the series! They're brilliant, whoever they are!

Downton Abbey. The way I feel towards Scandal is the same way I feel towards Downton Abbey. I am a huge fan of the show! I love everything about it - from the characters to the storyline to the writing (again!) to the location to the costumes (!!!). Season 5 has just started and a lot of changes are happening at Downton. I'm curious to find out how much more life the series has.

Thankfully, these are the only series that I follow. I don't know how other people are able to follow more than 5 series. Haha! Earlier, HB Boy and I were talking about shows we follow. He shared that at one point, he would start watching series on a Friday night and finish by Saturday night. WTF?! Lol! I can't do that. I can never do that. Even if I could do it, I would never do it. Hahaha!

Anyway, back to watching my other new episodes...

Back to regular programming...

This blog has been neglected these past few days as I was spending a lot of time with Mama.

Monday and Tuesday nights were spent having dinner with her. Then, there's the inception holiday to Yogyakarta from Wednesday to Friday. Yesterday, we were out the entire day for last minute shopping and get-together with Mr. Lim for lunch until late afternoon followed by a send-off dinner with Mon and Richie.

Today saw both of us waking up before 6AM so we can be early at the airport, in case some inconveniences come up (There were none. Yay!).

I am also glad that my good friend Noreen was on the same flight as my Mom. At least, she would have company until the plane lands in Manila.

Meanwhile, it is back to regular programming for me. To be honest, I am very exhausted. Lol! I haven't been getting enough rest this past week. I haven't been able to go to the gym at all. Yikes! I am afraid to step on the weighing scale. Haha!

Talking about going back to regular programming, the first thing I did when I got home was to watch the premiere episodes of two series - Scandal and Gotham. Scandal has always been a favourite of mine. I am extremely happy to see Olivia Pope and her team (?) back. Meanwhile, I will suspend any review of Gotham until I see the next few episodes. The pilot of the new series has got me interested though. Hopefully, the show will be awesome.

Then, there is also Downton Abbey. I wonder what happened to Arrow. I hope the series will continue as it is a favourite, too. Haha!

Other than the TV series, today is about recuperating and putting back order into my room.

We resume normal programming, folks. Haha!

What a wonderful, wonderful episode 1 of season 3 of Downton Abbey. I am hooked. Haha!

Series galore...

One more good thing that happened about being stuck at home during the weekend was getting to watch the new eps of the series I've been following.

Currently, I'm watching the following: Scandal, Looking, The Walking Dead, The Vampire Diaries, Arrow.

I've been watching TVD since it started and that was when I was still in the Philippines. Lately though, the story is starting to be annoying. It feels like the story is being stretched too much. Hehe! We'll see if I will drop this series soon.

TWD was introduced by a friend again, when I was still in the Philippines. To be honest, I was hooked for the first two seasons. The third season, imo, has been going well so far. It doesn't feel like the story's stretched yet. I guess it's great that there are many characters so the writers can build sub-plots about the lives of each character.

Now, Arrow, Scandal and Looking are my current top fave series.

If I were to rank the three, Scandal would have to be my favourite followed by Looking and then Arrow.

Scandal had me hooked since season 1 ep 1. The writing is just fantastic and Olivia Pope is a woman to be loved. This season 3, I'm starting to loathe Fitz aka Mr. US President. Haha! I guess the fact that the series can draw an emotional reaction from its viewers makes it an effective show. I'm really looking forward to the next eps.

Looking, on the other hand, has been receiving mixed revs. Most are not so good. Among my friends though (Richie, Mon, Edsel, Tipz), the show has been well-received. Believe it or not, there have been quite a few instances of dissecting a particular episode. Hehe!

Lastly, Arrow is interesting to watch because it's based on a superhero. Plus, Oliver Queen is pleasing to the eyes. Lol.

Oh, there's also another series I recently started watching - Sherlock. Great writing. The fact that each season is only 3 episodes (each ep is about 1.5 hours) makes it easier to follow.

Friends reco a few other series to watch - Breaking Bad, Suits, etc. I just have no time for more series. If I add a few more series to my to-watch list, I would have to give up other things I wanted to do. Haha!

Team Jake...

With The Walking Dead on a break and The Vampire Diaries about to go on a break (?), I have no idea what series to watch.

Thankfully, I still have tons of series waiting to be watched thanks to Ian. Some weeks ago, I started watching Grey's Anatomy again. I'm now somewhere on the third season. I stopped watching a bit because I'm starting to get annoyed with the characters. Hehe.

Last night, I started watching Awkward. I remember friends Mon and Victor were talking about it ages ago. I just never started watching it because at that time, I was on TWD and TVD.

So far, I've been enjoying the series. It's your typical shallow, teenage drama but I'm kinda liking the series because I don't have to think. It kinda reminds you of the awkward time that was high school.

Almost done with season 1 and I've started to DL season 2. My landlord recently just switched to fibre broadband and so far, the connection's been awesome.

How to Make it in America...

Having been indisposed these past few days, I have nothing to do at home after checking my work mail but finish this book I'm currently reading and check the blogs I usually visit.

That's how I stumbled upon this HBO series "How to Make It in America."

It's a comedy-drama series following the lives of lead characters Ben Epstein and friend Cam Calderon as they try to break into the NY fashion scene with their brand Crisp NYC.

Season 1 aired last year. Season 2 premiered last October.

It's actually quite interesting, and easy to watch since there are only eight episodes for both seasons.

To a certain point, I could relate to it because I am also trying to make it in another foreign country. Of course, New York and Singapore are very much different but the aim is the same - to make it.

Currently loving Gossip Girl and Brothers and Sisters...

Monday was spent at home watching season 1 of Gossip Girl. Loving that new TV series along with ABC's Brothers & Sisters. Haha! Gossip Girl is sort of like The O.C. community transported to the East Coast. Haha!
