Happy Halloween...

It was a packed weekend.

I spent most of the time with visiting ex-colleagues. Last Saturday, I was with them from 9AM until 6PM going from place to place around the island.

In the evening, I went for drinks and clubbing with my guys. That was from 10PM until 5AM. Hahaha!

With only three hours of sleep, I met up again with my visiting ex-colleagues on Sunday morning and stayed with them until after they checked in for their flight back to Manila.

From Changi, I took the bus to Woodlands to attend Mass at my usual church. By then, I was really doing my best to stay awake.

It was no surprise that I was asleep by 930PM. Haha! Super super fun Halloween weekend though!

Last week with I-van, Edsel and Moi...

What a great week the past week was!

Wednesday. Dinner at Lau Pa Sat. Dessert at The Landing Point One Fullerton.

Thursday. Dinner at Pappa Rich. Drinks at Out and May Wong. Supper at Maxwell.

Friday. Lunch at Toss & Turn. Shopping. Window shopping. Dinner at Korat Thai. Dessert at PS Cafe Palais Renaissance.

Saturday. Shopping. Window shopping. Dinner at Long Beach Dempsey. Dessert at PS Cafe Dempsey.

Sunday. Breakfast at CBTL Paya Lebar. Dinner at Toss & Turn.

Monday. Dinner at Soup Spoon. Dessert at TWG MBS. Shopping. Window shopping.

Earlier, Edsel already flew back to Manila. Moi, on the other hand, flew back last Sunday. I-van will be flying back to KL tomorrow night.

It's back to regular programming for me, Richie and Mon. Richie and I were talking about how tired we were from last week (I have been sleeping at 130AM every night and waking up at 7AM... LOL!) but it was definitely super fun having the vharkadings around.

The week just got better...

Well, the week just got better.

The other day, the SG-KL-MNL Whatsapp group chat was having its usual conversation. I then sent a photo from Timehop that showed a group photo from 15 July 2013.

Edsel then sent a photo of the "To city" MRT sign. I wondered why he was sending that photo. I thought it was a stock photo from a previous trip. Then he sends another photo in the MRT, and another one. The next thing we know, the group just goes alive because Edsel is also in town! Hehe!

So, yup, the week just got a lot better. Wednesday night, I met up with the gang for dinner at Lau Pa Sat and from there, we headed to One Fullerton for coffee, desserts and hangout at The Landing Point. Gad, One Fullerton has the best interiors, I swear!

Last night, it was another nightout with the guys. Edsel and I had dinner. Afterwards, we met the rest for drinks then late dinner then drinks then supper.

Today, the plan is to accompany the shoppers. Haha! I dun intend to buy anything seriously. I need to save for two trips end of this year.

Tomorrow, Moi is also arriving. Unfortunately, Vic and Richard couldn't fly in. Otherwise, it would be one big reunion. Haha!

Nice weekend, it'll be.

Busy nights this week...

This is the third night this week that I am heading back this late. Haha!

Monday night, I went for a late evening class. Last night, I went for some pre-holiday errands with Tipz.

Tonight, I met up with Mon and Richie.

What was supposed to be just a dinner became dinner + coffee + hours of chikahan.

And I wasn't rushing to head back as I know we'd usually be done by 10ish. That and because I dun have a gym class to attend tomorrow morning.

Richie suggested we have dindin at Jollibee. I was more than up for it since I dun get to eat that often at Jollibee.

Since I had time to kill before dindin, I went around Ion for some more pre-trip errands. I should already be okay in the clothing department now. Haha!

From Ion, I headed to LP to meet up with Rich who was already queueing. Thankfully, the wait wasn't that long. Mon arrives just as Richie was done ordering our food. Yay!

From LP, we headed to next door Paragon for coffee and dessert. I had my second macchiato for the day! Yikes!

While chatting among ourselves, we were also chatting with the gang in Manila. Great how the physical distance between Manila and SG is bridged by technology. Hehe.

It's always a happy time to meet up with Mon and Richie as we never seem to run out of things to talk about. Convo just flows naturally. It's a blessing to have that kind of friendship/relationship.

Tomorrow is going to be another late night. Meeting up with friend/former colleague Reena who's in town for a night.

Whew! Busy calendar this week. Haha!

Back to Singapura tonight...

It's been a very good trip.

Not too busy. Just relaxed. I saw most of the people I really wanted to see. I wished I saw more friends. Hehe!

But above all, I am just glad that things are okay with the fam after Dad returned back to the heavens.

I dunno if I already wrote about it, but one of the things that this whole experience taught me is that things do happen for a reason. The other lesson is that really, He knows what is best for everyone. It is for that reason that I keep and will continue to keep the faith. Hehe!

This afternoon, I'll just be relaxing and finishing my packing before heading to the airport. Though my flight is quite late, I intend to leave early - too early, in fact - for the airport since it's a Monday, and 5PM will prolly be damn crazy, and I dunno what to expect at the OFW counter at the airport. Hehe!

It's been a very good trip. I'm really grateful. Thank you to all the friends who took the time to see me.

Now, it's time to head back to my other "home," which I'm also starting to miss.

Arlyn and Ryse in SG...

Despite the haze that choked the whole island for days, the week still ended on a good note because of visiting friends.

Sisters Arlyn and Ryse, who I both met through my best friend Tey, were in town for a holiday. It was Arlyn's first trip to Singapore (surprisingly). I wasn't able to ask Ryse if it was the same thing for her.

It's always a happy moment for me whenever friends from Manila come and visit. Aside from the catchup, it is also an opportunity to play tour guide to friends.

Hmm, personally, I'd like to show friends the not-so-touristy parts of the island. I know that Orchard, the Esplanade and Merlion Park, Bugis, to name a few, are mandatory places to visits.

But if possible, and that is if visiting friends are interested and they have the time, I'd bring them to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, or cafe' hopping at Tiong Bahru, or even cycling at Pulau Ubin just to see another side of the island-state. It's not really Singa-bore.

Thankfully, the air quality improved somehow by Friday night and we were able to do a bit of both.

Originally, Arlyn and Ryse wanted to try chilli crabs and cereal prawns. No Signboard or Jumbo Seafood could have easily been an option. Instead, I suggested instead we go to the chilli crab place in Ghim Moh.

However, because of the PSI readings that day, it was better that we dine indoors. We sacrificed the chilli crab and just went for the cereal prawns (and coffee pork ribs, ngor hiong, and fried rice! Hehe!). I brought them to Le Chasseur, which was right across Central, and is one of the nicer zi char places.

Afterwards, I was ready to go to Clarke Quay, which is really not my fave place and is not my scene for obvious reasons (hehe), but I know it's a must-visit for tourists.

Instead, we ended going to Club St. in Ann Siang Hill since Ryse's SG-based friend was there. I forgot about that area as a (better) alternative to Clarke Quay (again because it is not my scene). Hehe!

We took the bus from Central and had to walk a bit to Club St., but it was also an opportunity to show Chinatown, Maxwell area, Neil Road(!) to the sisters before leaving them at Club St. with Ryse's friend.

Saturday, I met up again with the sisters. PG Boy had class and I didn't have anything scheduled so I was able to hang out with them before they leave for Manila. (I was tentatively scheduled to play museum tour guide to Tipz's folks, but they had other plans, I think. Hehe!) Simon, a common friend who's SG-based as well, joined us, too.

That day, we did the touristy activities, which was still fun. We started the afternoon by shopping at H&M, followed by a long, good lunch at Din Tai Fung in Paragon, and then going to Ion for more shopping for them.

Simon and I agreed that it was a short visit. There were still more to do, more to see. Hehe! Arlyn and Ryse said they will be back when friend Rej visits from Dubai and when JoAnn gives birth months from now. Yay!

This coming weekend will also be a busy and happy one because another two friends - I-van and Moi -are flying in.

Bali nice weekend...

The travel for 2013 has begun.

Good friends I-van and Edsel were recently in town for a holiday and we squeezed in another holiday trip within their holiday. Hehe.

Some time last year, Richie told us that he has free accomms in Bali thanks to his brother who couldn't make the trip.

He invited some friends to accompany him. The weekend trip was not just any ordinary holiday though. I'll leave it at that.

So, from Friday until Sunday, I was with the guys and one lady enjoying the brief getaway from the Little Red Dot.

It proved to be a very short trip though because I found myself wanting to stay a few more days to explore the island.

Oh well, we can always go back I suppose. Haha!

More photos in the next post. :)

Jonrox, Ela, Sheena in town...

Nice surprise while I was headed to DB training this morning.

I was checking my FB page on my phone and I saw a Wall Post from uni friend Jon. He, together with girlfriend Ela plus, were in Singapore. Ela's best friend Sheena was also in town. They were here for holiday and to visit Sheena's boyfriend Mickey.

After taking note of Ela's number, I gave her a call and it was just really great to hear a familiar voice from back home.

We agreed to meet up later in the afternoon, since they already had an itinerary the entire day and I had my own plans as well.

Around 6PM, I was at one of Singapore's most iconic tourist spots - the Merlion Park - looking for the group. It didn't prove to be too difficult to spot them. In a sea of tourists, I saw two gorgeous girls in a flowy jumpsuit-ish number and looking very chic. Jon and Mickey were easy to find as well given their towering heights. Hehe!

I gave the girls a beso and huge hug, while the guys the usual firm handshake and tap on the shoulder. Yeah, I know, I know. Very butch. Haha!

From the Merlion Park, we went to the Marina Bay Sands and hung out at the Ku De Ta bar for pre-dinner drinks. Thankfully, it wasn't raining and we had a great night view of the city. Afterwards, we headed to Killiney for dinner at bak kut teh place that Mickey recommended.

It was really a great get-together even if it was quite short.

Always, always great to see good friends from Manila. :)
